Education is the Best Valentine!

A full circle of love through education is for vulnerable children:

· Safe House protection.

· Tutor School preparation.

· Secondary graduation.

· Vocational direction.

  • From Protection to Possibility- The Safe House provides immediate safety during the cutting season.

In December and January, when many girls faced the risk of Female Genital Cutting and early marriage, twelve Maasai girls came to our Safe House seeking protection.  They arrived quietly.  Some came at night. All came hoping for something simple — the chance to stay in school.

Because of donor support, 20 Maasai girls are now enrolled and supported in 4 years of Tanzanian government secondary boarding schools.

"I am not a bride.  I am a student".  Arilla, age 15.

For a Maasai girl, secondary education changes everything: it delays early marriage, reduces health risks, increases earning potential, and strengthens her family. Today, these girls: Sleep in boarding school dorms, wear school uniforms, study math, science, English, and civics. Dream of professions that once felt impossible.

Family Support, Pride, and Smiles! Fathers of girls living at the Safe House are literally standing behind their daughters. These fathers met with Health & Hope Maasai Leaders to discuss their daughters' futures.

Maasai Fathers' decision: “Education will strengthen my family more than early marriage.

This shift — in fathers, in families, in villages — is lasting change.
